<aside> 🌻 We don't know about you, but here at The Notionette, we're kind of looking for something else to do this summer than a Zoom meetup with friends. And even if we'd be able to meetup, there is probably little less to talk about than work after all this time, because what else have we been able to get up to?

That's why we've rounded up 5 fun activities you can do with friends over the next couple of months, whether you still need to socially distance or not! They're guaranteed to spark some new conversations and laughs amongst you all.

Have fun!

If you and your friends love to get creative, then we've got the perfect idea for you!

Scour Pinterest for some fun DIYs that could fit everyone's home living style with some simple adjustment and check with the group if everyone's up for it!

Macramé and clay DIYs are always a good option, since they don't need a ton of specific skills and everyone can use their hands to the fullest.

Next up, have everyone order the materials needed if you're still at home or order a big batch and bring it to the agreed upon location.

Finally, it's time to get to work!

Whether you're together in a Zoom call or real-live, it's nice to be able to chat with your friends on your progress, ask questions on specific instructions and share what you're making. It's just like following a workshop together.

And worst case scenario, you'll get to have some laughs about things gone terribly wrong with your creations.

Succesfully tried & tested by this member of The Notionettes!

$\color{#ffffff}\colorbox{#e6a315}{have a quiz}$

A quiz is always good for a couple of laughs, especially if you've got a friend who's willing to take the lead in this venture.

One option is to go for a pretty personal quiz on your friends themselves and gather information through partners, other friends and family members.

"Who shaved their legs only twice during the entire lockdown period"? "Who bingewatched the entire first season of Bridgerton in one go?" A bit of giggly fun and shameless playfulness with your friends who you share anything with might spark some new conversations ✨

If that's not really an option, you could opt for a themed quiz. Organise a 'Friends' quiz with questions found online, go for a 'fun facts' theme or just raid your parents' Trivial Pursuit box and you're ready to go!

You can find some awesome tools to do this. We recommend using Kahoot, since it's super user friendly!

$\color{#ffffff}\colorbox{#e6a315}{cook together}$

Food always brings people together, even in times of crazy lockdowns.

If you can meet up, this one's pretty easy to arrange. If not, then we suggest taking a different approach.

Research different three-course meals and agree upon an option that seems delicious and doable for everyone.

Good friends, good food, good times.

Next, all you need to do is set a date, get the groceries and start cooking! Make sure to mute yourself when you're rattling around with pots and pans though 😉

$\color{#ffffff}\colorbox{#e6a315}{have an (online) book club}$

A lot of people have taken up reading again in these bizarre times and have devoured book after book after book.

Whether you're a Bridgerton-fan, from the TV show to the books, enjoy curling up with a good thriller or are more the non-fiction type of gal, getting together with friends to share thoughts and ideas about the same books might be a good way to lighten the mood these days.

And it's a good way to make sure that you have a regular get together, without having to set up a million Doodles every time. Agree to meet every month on the last Thursday of the month, have everyone block it in their schedule and take turns picking your next book of the month.

Feel free to discuss whatever you like, from who was the hunkiest character to your scariest moment or your biggest lesson learned from the book. There's always magic to talk about when it comes to the written word ✨

$\color{#ffffff}\colorbox{#e6a315}{enjoy a board game}$

No, board and card games aren't just for kids and grandparents, but can be great fun for friends of any age (yes, also if you don't turn it into a drinking game).

They always guarantee a laugh and give you the opportunity to mess around with those you love for a bit or just engage in some friendly competition.

Luckily, in today's online day and age, there are also plenty of alternatives in the board game field, even if you're limited to the safety of your own home.

Here are some of our favorites:

If none of these games sound appealing to you, you can always check out the online websites Board Game Arena or Tabletopia. Both websites have an impressive collection of online board games to invite friends to.

No matter which one of these ideas you decide to try out, we hope you find some time and inspiration during this summer to spend some well-deserved quality moments with those you love.

Enjoy!
