I haven't been writing much this week.

My partner and I found a hidden gem, a beautiful green park with a tennis court.

When the pandemic started, we decided to take up on tennis, as we had some courts around our neighbourhood, and it's also a safe sport to play.

After we moved in the fall, we had other priorities, the days got shorter, we got busier and feeling a bit more depressed as winter set.

We had been desiring for some movement under the sun.

To be a highly effective professional, we need to be aware of how we are using our limited energy. If it wasn’t for the systems I have set in place, I would be feeling extremely overwhelmed right now.

When we get better at figuring out how our energy works, we tend to show more powerfully in all the aspects of our life.

To give our best self to our work and love we must prioritize our phyisical, emotional and mental energy.

Daydreaming practice for a more productive you - Groovy Wink

Unfocusing is a process that relaxes your brain. It’s a deliberate and intentional time for healing & rest. Do not underestimate the power of it.

Some tips to unfocus from work:

If you don’t rest when you need it the most, your body will force you to rest later, either by cycling down longer than usual or getting sick.

Take a break to become more productive, but I’m not talking about a Pomodoro cycle break, I’m talking about taking a day or week off of work.

If you refuse to take breaks you will make more errors, experience higher levels of stress and fatigue, and lower immunity (since the body is stressed). No one wants that.

The key to increasing your productivity, and sustaining it, is leveraging your natural energy levels.

Taking control of your energy is first and foremost about understanding yourself; the natural rhythm of your body’s energy surges and dips, and harnessing those peaks of energy when they occur. It’s a unique cycle with patterns.

When was the last time you took a day to do nothing?
